Mgr. David Livingstone, Ph.D. was born in Germany to American parents and grew up all over the world and the United States. He received his B.A. in English Language and Literature at University of California, Berkeley in 1989. He first arrived in Czechoslovakia in 1990 soon after the Velvet Revolution. He has been teaching at Palacký University since 1992 where he also completed his M.A. in English Philology and his Ph.D. In English literature. He also has extensive experience teaching Business English, Academic Writing, Advanced Conversation Skills, Social Issues, Cultural Studies and TOEFL and IELTS preparation courses. He is an official examiner for the FCE, CAE and CPE Cambridge exams. He has taught for a number of renowned companies and institutions in Central Moravia, including LG Philips, Mora Moravia, Kappa Packaging, Czech Railroads, Moravian Ironworks, Glaverbel, the Czech Army, the City of Olomouc, and many others. He also works as a translator from Czech to English and has dubbed voiceovers for a number of documentary films. David is married to a jazz singer/teacher and has three Moravian/American children.
